During my time volunteering as part of a Cancer Research fundraising comittee, I was tasked with creating various promotional materials and ticket designs for our events. After observing the much more experienced organisers head up their own event ideas, I eventually developed enough confidence to create my own.

Using my connections to Nottingham based Japanese tutors and with some generous contributions from The Japan Centre in London, I was able to design a cultural ‘crafternoon’ filled with origami, sushi making and a little beginner language learning. The event was a great success, raising funds for an important cause whilst also advertising courses for the local language college.
